Located in both Queens Plaza and The Myer Centre on Queens Street, Brisbane is New Shanghai. The one in the Myer Centre has fewer options to choose from as it is situated in the food court, whereas the one in Queens Plaza is a restaurant so it would have more options.
Here are some of the photos I took during the times I have went:
This is the “Yangzhou Fried Rice” and it’s most of my go-to fried rice when I dine out. In my opinion, in terms of taste, it was not too oily which I like as some restaurants do make them quite oily; but I guess each person has their own different approach on tastes.
I don’t want none unless it’s “New Shanghai Pan Fried Pork Buns” hun! These were sooooo good. The texture of the bun was not too dry or soggy, and I liked how the bottom of them was a bit burnt and crunchy, and of course the fillings were on point.
And of course I saved the last for best! This is the “New Shanghai Xia Long Bao” or also called steamed pork dumplings. WARNING: DELICIOUS JUICE WILL COME OOZING OUT WHEN YOU BITE INTO IT! For those of you who will be trying it for the first time, dip the dumplings into the vinegar and slowly bite into it, just so it won’t burn your tongue.
